Using cloth training pants just makes sense! You want your child to feel when they are wet - encouraging faster potty learning. All of the product options below allow toddlers to easily pull their training pants up and down by themselves, just like big-kid underwear. And the absorbent layers and waterproof lining protect against the inevitable accidents that are part of the potty training process. Cloth training pants can also be used for bed wetting protection. And just like the reasons why to use cloth diapers, using cloth training pants is better for your pocketbook, better for the environment, and better for your child's health!
How many pair of training pants do you need? It depends, of course, on how often your child has accidents, and how often you want to do laundry. In the beginning you will probably be switching back and forth between diapers and training pants. Later when you are using training pants full time your child will likely have fewer accidents. So six seems to be a good number to get you through potty training. Of course you are welcome to start with just a few, maybe even one of each kind, to see which you like best.
Washing cloth training pants is similar to washing cloth diapers.

waterproof outer fabric (1 mil PUL), custom-milled cotton velour inner (a "feel wet" fabric),
Polyeurathane Industrial Snaps, and soft yet durable plush Fold Over Elastic...
and best of all, these are all made by WAHMs right here in the good old USA!
The inner Cotton Velour helps your child to know when they are wet,
without feeling soaked like flannel
and it's oh-so-soft on your child's skin! There is also a 2 layer cotton fleece sewn in soaker for greater absorbency
while remaining nice and trim! (See diagram.)
Plush Fold Over Elastic is used in Snap-EZ Training Pants
as it is so gentle on your child's legs,
and it's so stretchy that is makes these so easy to put on and take off.
This allows your child to feel like he's now in big kid pants, not diapers,
and allows for independence as your child is ready for it! These trainers are also designed to be roomy (poofy) to aid in the child's ability to take them off and put them on again.
The Snaps make for great for cleaning up accidents,
and make for quick and easy changes without taking clothing off!
They also make for more thorough washing and faster dry times.
Caring for your Snap-EZ Eco Training Pants:

Remove solids - Wash on HOT using 1/2 strength detergent

Dry on high at least once a month

NEVER use bleach, fabric softener, enzymes cleaners or brighteners. These products will ruin your diaper/soaker and void all warrantees.

Do NOT put Snap-EZ Eco Trainers in the wash with velcro items, as velcro can ruin the elastic on your Snap-EZ.
Be sure to measure your child to ensure getting the proper size.
And due to the unique "hip snapping" design,
please follow the directions for measuring so you get the right measurements!

*The Eco 3T is roomier than the regular Snap-EZ line,
so please note this will fit differently if you have had the 3T size before.
Directions for measuring your child:

Tummy - Measure around the waist at the level of 1 inch below the belly button.

Leg - Measure starting at the top of the leg at the hip - where the leg bends - then around through the crotch and back up to the top of the thigh.

Rise - Measure from 1 inch below the belly button down through the crotch and up to the 1 inch above your starting level. (I recommend measuring the rise over a stuffed diaper).
Please note
In order for the elastic at the waist and legs to shrink to its proper size,
Snap-EZ Eco Trainers need to be prewashed and dried on hot twice.
It is not possible to judge fit on your child prior to pre-washing the trainers.
Since washed items are not returnable, it is very important to measure your child
to be sure you are ordering the proper size.

Revolutionary Pocket Trainers
These unique cloth training pants make either potty training or bed wetting easier to deal with, as you customize the absorbency to suit your child. I recommend these for a child just starting potty learning who may have heavy wetting accidents, or for night wetting. Inserts or prefolds for absorption are sold separately, just like for pocket diapers. For general daytime use, we recommend microfiber stuffins. For heavy night wetting, we recommend using hemp prefolds inside.
Once the pocket is stuffed, your toddler can pull the training pants up and down by himself with the elastic waistband. The sides of the waistband can be opened with snaps for ease in messy clean ups and to make stuffing them easier.
Happy Heiny's Trainers have been child-tested and last 12+ hours overnight with absolutely no wicking for most children, if they fit properly and are properly stuffed for the child's absorbency needs.
